This is where we the frequent flier will chronolog our stories from our flights which happen quite regularly. So there is very little that we do not come across.

Back in ther penalty box at ORD

We landed late after waiting de-icing and now we are stuck on the tarmack waiting for our gate to open up. Maybe five minutes, maybe a new gate... Good thing O'hare is no longer the busiest airport, they can't even manage the load they currently have.

Please consider what you eat before boarding

Unlike the guy in front of me, who reaks of a nasty summer sausage or something. Please stop eating whatever you had for breakfast, go back home and brush your teethe and cary plenty of breathe mints on you. Your ignorance is invading my personal space!

Bloody Travel Agents

At the office we use ResEx, not sure who they are, but when I have to deal with a live body things get messed up. Last week I phoned to change this week's trip so I wasn't working on a holiday. A tather simple change, a few more $$ and we should be on our way. However, last night I went to check in and wasn't able to. Knowing this usually means my reservation hasn't been ticketed. So I had to ring up the travel agent, for a fee of $30 to have them check their work and make sure the trip was ticketed. It wasn't. So once they fixed that I was still blocked from using the on-line check-in since I had already attempted. Thanks to their incompetence, I have to pay more flight change fees, travel agent charges and be inconvienced from my normal morning flight routine, not to mention, since I couldn't check-in on line there was no telling what was going to happen when I got to the airport in the morning. Hoping for a good travel day that hinges on the competence of a travel agent is never good odds.

Please don't ever hand that blackberry to me

Today in the bathroom. A place I really don't understand phone and computer usage. There was someone in the stall next to me pecking away at their blackberry while sitting there. Not sanitary what so ever. I just don't get it... I understand you may need to pass the time, but not with a device that you put up to your mouth to talk and hand to others to read from.

Skimming the clouds

Our cruising altitude this morning was very unique. We were skimming
right along the tops of the clouds. It was like when your in a boat and
you can reach down and drag your fingers in the water!n it was like the
clouds were right there. Pretty cool.

I really love my Shure headphones

Why? They are just so cute. :). Seriously, the serenty these ultra
compact high quality ear buds provides is indespensible. Sound quality,
I have heard sounds in music I had been listening to for years that I
never knew were there. Ths size, the cute little case them come with is
smaller than an egg. With all my traveling, packing light and size
really matters. Sound isolation, talk about solitude, with just the
tiniest bit of volume playing you won't be able to hear the flight
attendant standing next to you trying to take your dinner order, the
announcements on the PA (be careful, this one can really bite you), that
annoying phone conversation sitting next to you or the row behind you.
The tiny size of the electronics inthese babies makes your batteries
last longer, plenty of sound is produced at the lowest of volumes. This
also helps prevent any addidiontional hearing loss, nore more super loud
tunes to drown out my neighbors or for them to hear, the sound only goes
into the ear canal, none escapes for others to hear. I do get double use
out of mine even when I don't have music playing, I use the yellow phone
ear pieces when I am flying to help eliminate nasty cabin noise, figure
if pilots use ear plugs then all that repetative noise can't be good for
my ears.

I believe I have the EC3 model, middle of the road. They come with three
types of ear buds, round soft rubber, round hard rubber (both in various
sizes), and yellow foam that you squish into your ear and the expand. I
also have a special pair that I acquired seperately, multi level cone
shaped ones, these are rubber and are desgined for use on airplanes.
Both the yellow and the cone are excellent for air travel, they also
stay in your ears wjile you chew, unlike traditional earbuds. You can
also get a molded version of the buds that are custom fit to your ear. I
haven't done that yet, but I am thinking about it. I use the soft rubber
buds for working out and in the office when I will need to easily and
often take the buds out and put them back in.

Wrong terminal, again...

American airlines flight ops really needs to notify their pilots that
the temporary terminal has been gone for over one month already. On my
last two flights back into Green Bay the pilots have headed for the old
temp. Terminal that doesn't exist anymore. Then we had to make a u-turn
and go back to the new terminal where our gate was. It is kinda funny
watching the pilot make the mistake and then realizing it...

Warranty VOID if removed

While boarding this morning I noticed the remnants of a seal on the airplane door. There was a huge VOID sticker. No wonder the airlines are in so much trouble, they have no money and they have VOIDed all the warranties on their planes. It would probably be better for the airlines and for the passenger if the airlines didn't wantonly void these warranties and just left those doors sealed closed :)
