Mobile Phones in the water closet
This one I really don't get. Why is it that you take a call while you
are standing in the water closet doing your business. There is no way
to be discreet about this at a public facility. What is so important
that you need to be talking while going? Not to mention the sanitary
issues! The kid today, was talking while going, then wrapped up his
business and walked right on out, keeping the conversation going. No
washing, not missing a word. I hope he doesn't let his friends use his
phone.
Hertz at PHL
What is up with Hertz's rental car return at Philly? I understand they
are doing some construction, but it takes forever to get someone to
check your car in. Some days there is no room to even drive into the
return lot, the cars are stacked right up to the entry way. Then you
wait forever for a bus to come, so that you can wait forever on the
Rental car bus to get to the terminal.
We have gotten so fed up with this that we have created our own little
solution to Hertz's problem that they don't seem to care about. First,
we don't worry about getting checked out and getting a receipt right
away. Take your rental car contract and your luggage and leave the car
anywhere. Walk towards the Hertz building and there are plenty of these
little black mailbox looking things. They are time stampers. Take the
return slip from your rental car contract, stamp the time on it, then
put this one piece of the contract in the slot. Now you are free to
go. To speed up the trip from Hertz to the terminal. Walk right back
out the in door. If you walk out the entry way and then cross the two
lane road into the parking ramp, it is a short walk through the parking
ramp, then you are right at the terminal. In this care, I think
terminal E is the closest one. If you don't fly out of E, then hop an
airport shuttle from there, or walk inside to your terminal.
